Basketball Recap: Harvest Community Comes Up Short

Harvest Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 83-79 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Harvest Community lost, don't look at Ryan Pritchard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Pritchard is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Lawson, who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Harvest Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Leading Global Outreach Charter Academy to victory were Jensie Lugo-Torres and Camilo Sanchez. Lugo-Torres scored 21 points and three steals, while Sanchez earned 18 points. The dominant performance also gave Sanchez a new career-high in boards (three). Another player making a difference was Deshawn Citizen, who had seven points and seven rebounds.

Harvest Community's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Beaches Chapel the next time they take the court. Harvest Community will head out to face Beaches Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Global Outreach Charter Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
