The South Sumter Raiders put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over Lecanto. 57 seems to be a good number for South Sumter as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Despite the defeat, Lecanto saw an underclassman step up: Jt Tipton scored 18 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Tipton scored a full 36% of Lecanto's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Caden Moore was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
South Sumter pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Lecanto, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
South Sumter has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Citrus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 587th, while South Sumter is ranked 67th). As for Lecanto, they will head out on the road to face off against Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
