Lafayette Central Catholic scored a stunning upset when it knocked off West Lafayette, 27-26. At the time, the Red Devils were ranked 15th in the state, while the Knights were 58th.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Hoosier this week, Lafayette Central Catholic beat West Lafayette 27-26. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Cam Bennington threw for 332 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 15-26 with 0 interceptions.
Maurice Woodard was a force in the backfield as Shane Fry's team fell to the Knights.
Tim Smoot was a key player and the best on defense this week as Twin Lakes defeated North Judson-San Pierre. He recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.
Woodard was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 271 yards on 36 carries as the Red Devils bested the Bluejays. Parker Ronchetto also contributed to the rushing game with 131 yards on the ground.
On the heels of Ronchetto and Woodard, West Lafayette has had great success on offense. Ronchetto leads the league in passing with 1,759 yards, while Woodard has rushed for 1,473 yards this season. Twin Lakes' Tirpak leads the league in receiving yards with 469 on 32 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Delphi Community takes on Benton Central. The Oracles are currently in sixth, while the Bison are in seventh.
Rensselaer Central took down Benton Central 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ab Kiger threw for 86 yards and ran for 30 yards in the win.
