On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lincoln County beat Chino Valley 51-45. Given Lincoln County's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 44th in Nevada, while Chino Valley is ranked 268th in Arizona), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kristian Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with seven assists and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lincoln County's points. Curtis Rippetoe was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Lincoln County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Chino Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Lincoln County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mohave at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Mohave is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Chino Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fountain Hills at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hopefully Fountain Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Wednesday.
