Camden Hills is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Brunswick. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Windjammers have suffered since May 10, 2024.
Walker Hedrich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Camden Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kai Young, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Medomak Valley entered their matchup against Morse on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers fell just short of the Shipbuilders by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Shipbuilders since April 25, 2022.
Gabe Lash was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kristian Schumann, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Camden Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Medomak Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Camden Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Medomak Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
