The Richfield Spartans posted their closest win yet this season on Monday. They skirted past Roosevelt 38-36. For Richfield, this counts as revenge for the 74-48 defeat Roosevelt walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Zarihana Rennie was the offensive standout of the game as she scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniiya Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Richfield's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Roosevelt, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richfield will take on DeLaSalle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Edison comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last 16 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
