After three games on the road, Marietta is heading back home. They will take on the Healdton Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Marietta came up short against Plainview and fell 74-62. Marietta has struggled against Plainview recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Aedan Ellison scored 28 points. Luis Garcia was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Healdton also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Central by a score of 66-55.
Marietta dropped their record down to 7-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Healdton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Everything came up roses for Marietta against Healdton when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-33 victory. Does Marietta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Healdton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
