The Springville Red Devils will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Mountain View Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Springville, who comes in off a win.
Springville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Murray, who was ranked 18th at the time (Springville was ranked 14th). The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Spartans 3-2.
Springville wouldn't go down easily and took Murray into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 15-7.

They weren't the only good servers: Springville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Mountain View didn't have quite enough to beat Pleasant Grove on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mountain View sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-12.
The win got Springville back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-1.
Springville couldn't quite get it done against Mountain View in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
