Strawberry Crest has gone 9-1 against Freedom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chargers will square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Strawberry Crest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
While Strawberry Crest's win against Alonso wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers skirted past the Ravens 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since February 11th.
Brisen Tweedy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Strawberry Crest's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chase Conti, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Freedom suffered their biggest defeat since March 13th on Monday. They came up short against Wesley Chapel, falling 22-7. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.
David Simpkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Freedom's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 8-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hall, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Strawberry Crest pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Strawberry Crest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Freedom struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Strawberry Crest's way against Freedom in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Strawberry Crest made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
