Irvine extended their postseason success on Monday against Highland. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Vaqueros sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Midori De Los Santos made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Harper Vandermolen was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Abby Sasaki was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Irvine's record now sits at 10-16. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.
Coming up, Irvine will face off against JW North at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Huskies have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
