It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perquimans Pirates had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past East Columbus 40-6 at home. Considering Perquimans has won three matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perquimans to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylon Knapp, who threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Benjamin Brown was another key contributor, picking up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Perquimans and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for East Columbus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Perquimans will head out on the road to face off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakewood will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. East Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
