The Hebron Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Chesterton Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hebron is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Tri-Township on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-3 win. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Savanna Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Hebron let Addison Toczek and Addison Dujmovich run wild. Toczek got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Dujmovich went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Dujmovich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Siminski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Hebron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Township only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Chesterton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Slicers 9-2. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Slicers on their field since April 27, 2021.
The team relied heavily on Payton Cherep, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lila Miller, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Hebron is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Chesterton, their record is now 8-6.
Hebron came out on top in a nail-biter against Chesterton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
