Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Ferguson Falcons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 61-45 to the Cavaliers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ferguson has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coral Gables to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcellis Williams, who scored 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Cristian Andres Paredes was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds.
Ferguson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Coral Gables, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
Ferguson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coral Gables, they will take on Columbus at TBD on Thursday. Columbus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 24 matches -- so hopefully Coral Gables likes a good challenge.
