The Mize Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Richton Rebels with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Mize took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over Richton. The result was nothing new for Mize, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Mize's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Talan Warren led the charge by throwing for 119 yards and four touchdowns on only six passes. Brandon Hancock was another key contributor, picking up 113 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Mize's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Newton and 1-8 Richton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34% over those games). As for Richton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Mize will be playing at home against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. St. Andrew's Episcopal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Mize is ranked 112th). Richton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
