Pahrump Valley hasn't had much luck against Boulder City recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will face off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Pahrump Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Boulder City will be up against a hot Pahrump Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Trojans beat Chaparral on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Dominic Chiancone looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Pahrump Valley got a massive performance out of Kayne Horibe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Aidyn Cratty was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pahrump Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Boulder City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Sports Leadership & Management by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 17th.
Boulder City also got a good showing from Will Teeples, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Teeples has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Boulder City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Uszynski, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
Boulder City's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Pahrump Valley, their record is now 20-7-1.
Pahrump Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Trojans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Boulder City, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pahrump Valley continue to outrun the ball?
Pahrump Valley couldn't quite get it done against Boulder City in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
