The Riverside Academy Rebels's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 75-68 victory over Riverdale. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Riverdale had strong showings from Byron Perrilliat, who scored 25 points along with four steals, and Roland Bullard, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Perrilliat scored 15 or more points. Selvin Ordonez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Riverside Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Riverdale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Riverside Academy will head out on the road to challenge Crescent City Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crescent City Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Riverside Academy in Louisiana (Crescent City Christian is ranked 37th, while Riverside Academy is ranked 251st). Riverdale won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Martin's Episcopal at 6:15 p.m. on January 12th.
