Zanesville had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 36-24 victory over Licking Valley on Wednesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Zanesville has managed all season.
Amaya Seyfried and Isabella Norman were among the main playmakers for Zanesville as the former scored ten points and the latter scored 13 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seyfried has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Granville put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Watkins Memorial 61-41. Given Granville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Watkins Memorial is ranked 415th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zanesville's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13. As for Granville, their win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Zanesville was taken down by Granville 65-29 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Zanesville was down 41-11.
