The Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Male Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasure Ridge Park will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Pleasure Ridge Park's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fairdale with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 18 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Male came out on top against Bullitt Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-3 win over the Cougars.
Kellen Goodman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other pitching news, Miles Flack looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Male: the team is 6-3 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on West Bickett, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Ford, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Pleasure Ridge Park pushed their record up to 28-0 with the victory, which was their 39th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Male, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
Pleasure Ridge Park took their win against Male in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
