FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEThe Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) and MaxPreps, the online high school sports leader, have announced a three-year partnership agreement that will enable the WPIAL to provide a customized sports information platform for its member schools.
MaxPreps and the WPIAL will offer a publishing platform across desktop, tablet and mobile that will streamline the process of managing sports information from its member schools. The partnership enables all information published on MaxPreps.com to be automatically provided to the WPIAL for use in managing various initiatives.
Beginning with the winter season of the 2017-18 school year, coaches will submit complete schedules and scores to MaxPreps.com, allowing the WPIAL to track regular-season standings and results used for post-season qualifications.
"MaxPreps is excited to add one of the most influential sections in Pennsylvania as an official partner," said Andy Beal, president and founder of MaxPreps. "We already have a great partnership with the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, and our agreement with the WPIAL allows us to strengthen and expand upon that to provide the best sports information to the section's high school community."
"We're excited to form a partnership with MaxPreps," said WPIAL Executive Director Tim O'Malley. "Our member schools will have the opportunity to use their platform to organize stats and scores. We look forward to our coaches and teams getting involved and learning how to better simplify the scoring process."
