Lakeside is 5-0 against Augusta Christian since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Lakeside put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 60-21 win over Harlem. Given Lakeside's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Harlem is ranked 188th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside found their leader in underclassman Kobi Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Barnes has scored at least 25% of Lakeside's points. Another player making a difference was Asunti Porter, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Augusta Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 64-24 win over Georgia Military College on the road.
Lakeside's win lifted them to 5-0 while Harlem's loss dropped them down to 1-4.
Lakeside beat Augusta Christian 34-24 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Does Lakeside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Augusta Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
