The Advance Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Puxico 58-42. The victory was some much needed relief for Advance as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Advance got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maggie Stubenrauch out in front who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stubenrauch has scored at least a third of Advance's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Cline, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Advance's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Puxico, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Advance won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Puxico, they will be playing at home against the Camels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
