After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Melbourne, Valley Springs was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Bergman Panthers. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
Brody Bernard made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bernard was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Camden Fredlund was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Oliver Chitsey was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Valley Springs moved to 13-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bergman, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Looking ahead, Valley Springs will look to defend their home field on Friday against Salem at 4:30 p.m. Bergman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
