Milford had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Walled Lake Western Warriors. Kylee Flack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last nine matches. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Tori Russell was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kaitlynn Elkins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Milford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
