After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waterford, Waukesha West was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Catholic Memorial Crusaders with a sharp 14-1 win. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Ashlee Barry made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Waukesha West got a massive performance out of Payton Hisel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Hisel has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kaiya Kraner, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Waukesha West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
