The Willow Spring Storm pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Holly Springs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (56), Willow Spring still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Willow Spring still got an impressive performance from J'Ashton Wooden, who scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Grant Overman, who scored 6 points along with 10 blocks.
Willow Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Holly Springs, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will take on Green Level at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Green Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday. As for Holly Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Topsail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Topsail has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three games.
