Tyler Legacy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Rockwall-Heath Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tyler Legacy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 632 points over their last ten matches.
Even though Mesquite scored an imposing 68 points on Wednesday, Tyler Legacy still came out on top. Tyler Legacy snuck past Mesquite with a 74-68 victory.
Tyler Legacy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Jones, who scored 23 points. Gage Nuckolls was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Rockwall-Heath pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Rockwall. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Rockwall-Heath came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Rockwall is ranked 203rd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Grayson Dorsey, who scored 19 points along with three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Cranford, who scored 11 points along with six assists and two steals.
Tyler Legacy pushed their record up to 15-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Rockwall-Heath, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
Tyler Legacy suffered a grim 80-55 defeat to Rockwall-Heath when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Tyler Legacy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
