Dighton is 7-1 against Wallace County since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dighton Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Wallace County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Dighton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Last Thursday, Dighton strolled past Kinsley with points to spare, taking the game 36-20. The win was just what Dighton needed coming off of a 100-64 defeat in their prior contest.
Dighton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Cramer led the charge by throwing for 97 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. George Vonleonrod was in the mix as well, providing Dighton with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Wallace County can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Otis-Bison 58-0 at home. Winning may never get old, but Wallace County sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kean Dinkel was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 116 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Funk, who picked up 46 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Dighton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Wallace County, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Dighton against Wallace County when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 38-0 victory. Will Dighton repeat their success, or does Wallace County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
