After only eight points in their last contest, The Benavides Eagles made sure to put some points up on the board against the Arlington Heights Christian Lions on Friday. Benavides strolled past Arlington Heights Christian with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. This was payback for Benavides, who suffered a 30-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Benavides was led to victory by Matthew Cadena and Shane Ryan. Cadena rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Ryan rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Joshua Garcia was another key contributor, gaining 98 total yards and three touchdowns.
Benavides has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Arlington Heights Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Benavides does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arlington Heights Christian will head out on the road to face off against Jubilee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
