It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Laurel had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the Shenango Wildcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.
Luca Santini was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Kolton Carlson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Laurel now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Shenango, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.
As of now, neither Laurel nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
