Meanwhile, Santa Paula earned a 56-44 victory over Eastside on Saturday. Given Santa Paula's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Eastside is ranked 961st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fillmore has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Santa Paula, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
