It's playoff time, and Lapel had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Frankton Eagles on Monday as they made off with a 6-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Addison Bodenhorn, who gave up just a hit to keep Frankton off the board. Bodenhorn has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Paige Stires was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Delaney Balser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Lapel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Frankton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.
Lapel has already played their next contest, a 19-0 win against Taylor on the 27th. Frankton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
