The Gilbert Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 583 points over their last eight games.
Gilbert has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 30 points or more this season. They breezed by Westwood at home to the tune of 68-38. Given Gilbert's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Westwood is ranked 97th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gilbert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aspen McClees, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was McClees' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Morgan Evenson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Perry beat Sunnyslope 63-54 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Perry.
Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Perry, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Gilbert was dealt a bruising 58-30 loss at the hands of Perry when the teams last played back in January. Thankfully for Gilbert, Khamil Pierre (who scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
