Akemi Higa and Co. Win 18th in a Row
Akemi Higa's big game helped extend Desert Oasis's winning streak to 18 on Thursday. Shadow Ridge had no answer to Higa as she rushed for 127 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Those 127 rushing yards gave Higa a new career-high.
Shadow Ridge had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Higa it was a similar story. Higa rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 82 yards and one touchdown the last time she and the Mustangs duked it out back in December of 2024.
