Chamblee has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Lithonia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Chamblee was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Decatur. Chamblee has not had much luck with Decatur recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite their loss, Chamblee saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Eli Starr, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Ryan Mccord was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lithonia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of M.L. King. That's two games in a row now that Lithonia has lost by exactly nine points.
Chamblee has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Lithonia, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Chamblee lost to Lithonia on the road by a decisive 72-56 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Chamblee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
