River Islands won the last time they faced Turlock Christian, and Charles Mapanao did his part to make sure it happened again. The River Islands Riptide blew past the Turlock Christian Eagles 73-49 on Friday thanks in part to Mapanao, who went 10 of 14 to rack up 25 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of George Dayeh, who posted nine points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Turlock Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Nydam and Cam Kelley. Nydam dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Kelley made all 6 shots he took racking up 16 points. Winston York was another key player, putting up five points.

River Islands now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Turlock Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

River Islands has already played their next game, a 65-50 win against Franklin on the 3rd. As for Turlock Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-51 loss against Ben Holt College Prep Academy on the 3rd.
