Valley Center is 7-2 against Imperial since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Valley Center Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Imperial Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Valley Center will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Valley Center beat Oceanside 14-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Garcia, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Braylon Mitchell, who threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last contest, Imperial made sure to put some points up on the board against Southwest EC on Friday. Imperial took their match at home with ease, bagging a 50-20 victory over Southwest EC. The result was nothing new for Imperial, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Jayden Ayala was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Another big playmaker for Imperial was Alfredo Dorame, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Valley Center has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Imperial, their win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-3.
Valley Center couldn't quite finish off Imperial in their previous meeting back in September and fell 25-22. Can Valley Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
