The Douglas Tigers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Prouty Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Prouty is ranked seventh).
Douglas struggled with threes on Tuesday (Uxbridge had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Douglas fell 56-49 to Uxbridge.
Douglas' loss came about despite a quality game from Adam Dunphy, who scored 17 points. Dunphy scored a full 34.7% of Douglas' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josh Farrell was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Prouty put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They slipped by Sutton 52-51.
Douglas' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Prouty, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
