Hand had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Joseph Cadets 30-28. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 17-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hand got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bobby Reh out in front who threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave Reh a new career-high in passer rating (108.7). Lucca Boyce helped Reh out on the ground, rushing for 106 yards, while also catching one score.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph lost on Saturday, don't look at Harry Ht Jones. Despite the final result, he threw for 162 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

Hand and St. Joseph will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will take on rival North Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph is set to face off against their familiar foe Danbury at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
