The Erskine Academy Eagles will face off against the Leavitt Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Erskine Academy played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Morse 16-3. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

Kelsie Dunn made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Bryana Barrett was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Kylie Bellows was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Erskine Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Leavitt strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Gardiner get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly ten runs.
Like Erskine Academy, Leavitt also got a great game from a two-way player: Hailey Cyr. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Cyr was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reese Bilodeau was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Kowalski, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win got Erskine Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Leavitt, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Erskine Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Leavitt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Erskine Academy couldn't quite get it done against Leavitt in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
