The Uintah Utes will challenge the Westlake Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Uintah is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Timpanogos, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Uintah was ranked 20th). The Utes blew past the Timberwolves 11-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Utes.
Lynlee Hall spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Rylee Miller was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Kayla Olson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Uintah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timpanogos only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, Westlake came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Cavemen.
Lynlee Sperry made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Sperry was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Westlake got a massive performance out of Addison Conder, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lexi Hilton, who went 3-for-4 with five runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Uintah's record is now 15-6. As for Westlake, their record now sits at 15-4.
Uintah's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Utes have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Westlake, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Uintah continue to outrun the ball?
Uintah skirted past Westlake 14-13 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Utes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
