Sinton and Rockport-Fulton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Sinton Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Rockport-Fulton Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Sinton strolled past Orange Grove with points to spare, taking the game 54-40.
Meanwhile, Rockport-Fulton's six-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-32 win over Orange Grove. The victory was just what Rockport-Fulton needed coming off of a 47-26 defeat in their prior contest.
Rockport-Fulton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaila Flaherty led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Flaherty continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camryn Brown, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Sinton's record now sits at 7-17. As for Rockport-Fulton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-20.
Sinton and Rockport-Fulton were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Sinton came up empty-handed after a 53-52 defeat. Can Sinton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
