The Sheridan Blackhawks extended their postseason success on Friday against the North Decatur Chargers. They snuck past the Chargers with a 24-20 win. The win was familiar territory for Sheridan who now have four in a row.
Sheridan can attribute much of their success to Zach Bales, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Bales hasn't dropped below sixsolo tackles for five straight games. Chance Spencer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Sheridan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Eli Kolb was the leader with two sacks.
Sheridan pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points per game. As for North Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Sheridan will be playing at home against Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Indianapolis Lutheran is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. North Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
