The team relied heavily on Avary Brister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Wilmot, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Abington Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Abington Heights pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wallenpaupack Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Abington Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
