Football Recap: Western Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, Western was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 38-7 defeat at the hands of the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Levi Shoemaker threw for 47 yards on four of 13 attempts.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Owen Omondi and Wes Parker. Omondi rushed for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries while Parker rushed for 114 yards and two TDs. Those 112 rushing yards gave Omondi a new career-high.

Western moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Western will face off against Logansport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Matthew McKitrick and Elliot Baldini. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will square off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
