The Bedford Bisons will challenge the Huntingdon Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bedford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Bedford barely beat Hollidaysburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bisons blew past the Golden Tigers 15-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bisons, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Pratt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Bailey Mickle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rebekah Costal, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Bedford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Huntingdon came up short against Southern Huntingdon County on Thursday and fell 5-2.
Alivia Nicklow was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Alexa Beyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
Huntingdon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Bedford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Huntingdon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bedford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. It's a different story for Huntingdon, though, as they've only averaged .205. Will they be able to contain Bedford's hitters?
Bedford was able to grind out a solid win over Huntingdon when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Bisons repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
