Homer moved up to 97 from 197 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class B - West. The Trojans were able to make the jump by beating Oneida 6-0.
Chittenango extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Westhill, 43-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bears.
Homer's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Casey Cleary threw for 49 yards and Payten Boice had 27 yards receiving. On the ground Mark Dove chipped in 115 yards. Beau Riley helped Homer's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
Homer's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cleary has thrown for 197 yards this season, while Boice has seven catches for 90 yards. Dove leads the league in rushing with 446 yards.
A big matchup in Section 3 Class B - West this week will be when the Warriors take on Gary Podsiedlik's team. Westhill is currently in fourth, while the Trojans are in second.
Homer and the Indians played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Homer eventually emerging with a 6-0 victory. Dove in the win.
