Pine Prairie took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Crowley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gent on Friday, sneaking past 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Gent last Friday, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

The win made it two in a row for Pine Prairie and bumps their season record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Crowley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15.

Pine Prairie has already played their next contest, an 18-4 loss against Iota on the 12th. As for Crowley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
