Millennium Charter Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-12. They lost 14-0 to The North Carolina Leadership Academy Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat last Friday.
As for The North Carolina Leadership Academy, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
For The North Carolina Leadership Academy's part, Dylan Earnhardt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Earnhardt posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Brayden Hatfield looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Hank Gaston and Jafet Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Gaston went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Rodriguez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gaston has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Trent Bryant was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
