It was a good run, but the Nottingham Northstars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bordentown. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Nottingham came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Bordentown is ranked 294th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bordentown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew DeCosta, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeCosta has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase Martin, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Nottingham's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Bordentown, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Nottingham will be playing at home against North Hunterdon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bordentown, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Burlington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Northern Burlington is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
