The Waco Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Hill County Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waco Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Hill County will be coming in after a defeat.
Waco Christian never got on the board in their matchup back in October, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Grace Christian Academy last Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 53-13 victory over the Colts. The result was nothing new for Waco Christian, who have now won three contests by 32 points or more so far this season.
Waco Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mark Day led the charge by rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Kohen Mayberry also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hill County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 30-25 to Grace Classical Christian Academy. Hill County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Hill County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Knight, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, was perhaps the best of all. Tristan Knight was another key contributor, rushing for 121 yards on only 13 carries.
Waco Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Hill County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
